Binary MLM Software

A binary MLM plan is defined as a compensation plan that has two legs (left leg & right leg) or subtrees under each distributor. By adding new pairs of users, a binary tree is formed. New members who join after them are spilled over to the lower level or to the next business level.

What is a Binary MLM Plan?

MLM binary compensation plan is very popular among companies and very widely accepted worldwide. A binary compensation plan has many advantages, the first of which is the simplicity of the plan. It appeals to all the members and its simplicity makes it easy to understand the pay level the member gets.

A binary compensation scheme, as the name suggests, works to the power of 2. Of course, number 2 represents the maximum number of frontline employees any business centre can have. Additional distributors/partners that get to know the business will be placed under one of the existing advanced partners

MLM Binary Compensation Plan is a well-known network marketing program. Overall, the jury is evenly split on how the project is received. Distributors are curious about the program’s unique rules and techniques or annoyed by its lack of flexibility.

Still, it is one of the three basic compensation plans, along with the Matrix plan and the Unilevel plan, and has helped many companies succeed. Read on to learn more about the binary MLM compensation plan and the pros and cons of implementing it in your business.

How is MLM Binary Plan Structured?

Compared to other MLM compensation plans, the binary compensation plan is relatively straightforward and easy to understand. In a binary program, a sales rep’s first line or first level is limited to two downlines, but the depth is unlimited. This means that to start earning, each sales rep only needs to recruit two of their “front line” distributors.

If a representative hires more than two members, it is called “spillover”. Additional indirect sales representatives are placed at levels below the initial first-line members.

binary spill over

Once the representatives are recruited and the binary system in the MLM software is complete, a two-tier, two-legged downline is created. There is no limit to the number of positions included in the MLM Binary Compensation Plan. This structure is also known as the MLM organizational genealogy for the way it represents reporting relationships among the company’s sales representatives or distributors.

How Binary Compensation Plans Work?

Binary compensation plans are not complicated to understand, which makes it easy to hire new sales reps. A distributor is compensated based on the volume of sales generated in each leg, rather than a percentage of sales for multiple-level users. Commissions are paid only on the basis of the lower-earning leg, known as the “pay leg/sales leg or weak leg”. The other piece that generates more sales is called the “profit leg or strong leg”

By calculating commissions based on the lowest-earning leg, MLM distributors have the incentive to grow both legs and work together as a team on both legs to maximize compensation. When sales are more balanced between the two legs, reps can get more out of their entire downline. Conversely, if commissions are awarded based on the highest-earning leg, reps will have no incentive to focus on lower-earning leads, leading to sales and hiring stagnation.

For MLM companies, binary compensation plans offer opportunities to manage company growth and more accurately estimate commissions and bonuses. Typically, MLM companies control commissions by defining a fixed commission percentage for each paid representative revenue level. The company’s Binary MLM software then automatically tracks the expanding downlinks and calculates commissions based on set parameters.

What are the Bonus Schemes of Binary Plan?

Binary bonus compensation is earned based on distributor performance or criteria set by the binary plan companies.

Direct commission

Direct Referral Commission

When you directly refer a new member, you can place them below you to the left or to the right. For every direct referral you make, you will be compensated with xx USD or xx% sponsor/referral bonus.

Some companies have different packages to choose from when signing up, so the direct referral commission percentage will be calculated based on the package your downline chooses.

The commission amount will be automatically credited to your account once your downline registration process is complete.

Pairing Bonus

Pairing Bonus

Distributors receive matching bonuses on sales made by each downline member. Bonuses are awarded only after distributors reach the required business volume, fill both legs with downline members, and complete the binary tree.

For example, A appoints B and C as his downlines. Simultaneously, B appoints D and E, while C appoints F and G as their downlines. It balances the binary tree in the recruitment so that distributor A is now eligible to receive the pair bonus.

All calculations done here are based on 10% P.V.

First, let us calculate the sales commission received by A.

According to the picture shown, A recruits B and C (B = 100 PV and C = 100 PV). Since sales volume is equal in both legs, they are paired.

Direct sales commission earned by A = 10% on 100 PV is $10 USD

Now, let’s calculate the pairing bonus

D and E fall to the left with respect to A.

D manages 100 P.V. while E manages 200 P.V.

So total PV on the left side = 100+200 = 300 P.V.

On the right, C appoints F and G, and each achieves 100 P.V.

So total PV on the right side = 100+100 = 200 P.V.

In the weak leg, the right is the weakest leg compared to the left 300 P.V.

Thus, 200 PV from A’s right leg is matched by 200 PV from the left leg, and the remaining 100 PV from the left is transferred to A’s left side.

So, the Pairing bonus received by A from B and C = 10% of 200 = $20

Hence, Total Commission Earned by A = Direct Sales Bonus ($10 USD) + Pairing Bonus ($20 USD) = $30 USD.

Matching Bonus

Matching Bonus

The pairing bonus is calculated based on your binary tree, which has two branches: left and right. Above members can place people in their binary tree. Your maximum daily matching bonus depends on your plan type.

You can place the guest member on your left or right side. Each complete combination of left and right is called 1:1, 2:2, etc.

Some corporate business programs may allow you to earn point-based bar bonuses. You earn points each time you accumulate members in the left and right groups of your binary structure. Points are accumulated from team entries. Commissions are calculated by matching the points (points) earned on the right leg and left leg. Generally, you earn commission on the total point volume of your weak leg.

Matched points in excess of weekly points are removed and non-matched points continue. A binary program can have one limit per day. If the limit is $1,000, the balance will reset if there are sales over $1,000.

What is the Binary Capping?

Binary capping is an amount set by MLM companies to maintain financial stability. A company’s billing can suffer if the commission money gets out of hand. The binary limit depends on commission or sales volume.

Binary Capping Types

Binary range based on sales volume

Binary Range Based on Sales Volume

This value is established based on the sales volume received by the distributor as opposed to the on boarding package.

If distributor X sets a sales volume of 200 on the left leg, 400 on the right leg, and a binary cap of 100 SV, the commission will be paid only on its cap value of 100. The remaining 100 from the weak leg and 300 from the strong leg will be deducted; those will not be carried over to the next commission cycle. The company may want to set this limit daily, weekly, or monthly.

Binary Capping Based On Commission

Binary Capping Based on Commission

This value is established based on the commission the distributors receive as opposed to the affiliate package.

Suppose distributor “A” joins with a $1,000 join package, the company may set a value of $5,000, and the distributor will not receive more than $5,000 in commission. This capping value can be set daily, weekly, or monthly.

Advantages of Binary MLM Plan

Like all MLM compensation plans, MLM binary compensation structures have strengths and weaknesses.

sales

Sales Productivity

Increasing Sales Productivity

One of the main reasons why MLM companies choose a binary plan is the opportunity to increase sales productivity. The opportunity to increase productivity is also important for sales representatives. The binary system allows new representatives to recruit, create unlimited positions, increase their buying power and balance additional positions within their binary downline.

Rapid Expansion

Rapid Expansion

Another attraction of binary MLM programs is their ability to facilitate rapid growth. From the point of view of the MLM Company and sales reps, the two-by-two levels of the binary program make it easy for new recruits to understand, commit to, and start earning the commission structure. In a binary MLM compensation plan, distributors benefit from bringing in new reps, even if the new reps are hired by someone above them.

Teamwork

Encouraging Teamwork

One of the main benefits of MLM binary compensation programs is the teamwork they encourage. Since the balance between paying and reference legs is important for all reps, helping the weak legs is good for everyone. If a representative succeeds in recruitment, both legs and bottoms share the impact.

Challenges of Binary MLM Programs

web application

Profit Margin

In a binary plan, the profit margin depends only on the active downline group. If downline members are not active in sales or recruiting, it will affect rewards. But keeping your binary leg balanced and selling high can be challenging at times.

mobile application

Unbalanced Subtrees

If the legs are too unbalanced, new recruits may prefer to join the stronger leg, even if there is a need to strengthen the weak but profitable leg. If the distance between legs is allowed to be too long, recruitment becomes difficult & weak leg production is further delayed.

data migration

Sponsor & Sales

Ultimately, the balance and credibility of the MLM binary structure is the responsibility of sponsoring members, which requires you to continue selling and recruiting. A drop in sales or recruitment will directly affect your bonus hence both should be well maintained.
